opened the meeting at 1200 hours; he
then invited Chairman Mr. Bhim Rai to
chair the meeting.

The President warmly
welcomed everyone present and asked the
General Secretary to run the meeting.
Then the General Secretary had requested
all executive committee members to take
their seats.
The points discussed
and the outcome of the meeting were as
follows:
ITEM 1 – INTRODUCTION
OF KRY UK AND ITS IMPORTANCE
The Vice Chairman Mr.
Ramdhan Rai had briefed the meeting
about how the KRY UK was formed. He
also mentioned KRY UK’s role, its
relation with other communities, social
works it had done, welfare cases it had
solved, donations it had collected for
needy Rai Bhais, financial help given to
the various charity groups that KRY was
liaised for and other uncountable social
works it had done.
ITEM 2 – ACCOUNT
UPDATE
The Assistant
Treasurer Mr. Chandra Rai briefed the
meeting on account front.
ITEM 3 – ANNUAL
SUBSCRIPTION
After a lengthy
discussion the meeting had agreed to
postpone the implementation of Annual
Subscription until the sub-committees
are formed.
ITEM 4 – SUB
COMMITTEE
The meeting
unanimously agreed to open its sub
committee at the following locations:
Ashford (already
formed)
Northolt
Grace
Swindon
Wales
Basingstoke
Hounslow
Bracknell
Maidstone
ITEM 5 – ANNUAL
EVENTS
The Sakela, Summer
BBQ and other main events are run by
Central Committee.
ITEM 6 – EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE FOR MUSICAL TROUPE
Mr. Mulibir Rai had
enlightened on the latest progress in
inviting Nepalese Artist in March/April
2008. As previously decided the
meeting had formed an executive
committee to be as follows:

ITEM 7 – EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE FOR KRY MAGAZINE
The meeting had
decided to postpone the formation of
committee until a new committee is due
to formed in March 2008.
ITEM 8 – CHARITY
EVENTS
The committee had
decided to run charity events in future
in order to raise money and handover to
local council in future. This would
give us chance to liaise and improve our
relation to local authorities.
ITEM 9 –
DONATIONS/CONTRIBUTION
The Treasurer had
declared that ₤3047.00 has been raised
for late Mr. Padam Bahadur Rai and would
be passed on to his widow shortly.
ITEM 10 – PROCUREMENT
OF KRY ORNAMENTS
The committee has
unanimously agreed to procure necessary
ornaments for KRY activities.
ITEM 11 –
PARTICIPATION OF YOUTH/WOMEN IN KRY UK
The committee had
agreed to involve more Youth/Women.
ITEM 12 – FUTURE
INCENTIVE
The meeting had
discussed thoroughly but did not reach
to any conclusion due to its vast
involvement and investment. However,
the committee had considered its
possibility in future. The subjects
discussed were:

KRY
property ie office building.
·
KRY
investment in Nepal.
·
Formation of Rai Bhai community.
ITEM 13 – INCLUSION
OF SAKELA DANCE IN LOCAL TALENT HUNT
COMPETITION WEB SITE
Mr. Sapan Rai has
explained about the Local Talent Hunt
show. The competition will be in a form
of Dance Competition for aged in between
10 – 30 years old. The show will be
broadcast in Nepali Television and it
will be available in website too.

The meeting had
praised Mr. Sapan Rai for his splendid
idea and without any hesitation offered
Sakela Dance to incorporate in his
website.
ITEM 14 – UPDATE OF
KRY WEB SITE
Mr. Bharat Mani Rai
has kindly accepted the responsibility
to up date KRY web site.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
1. Mr.Gajendra Rai
asked the meeting to provide a mobile
telephone to General Secretary as it is
a fastest means of communication.
The meeting had
agreed his proposal. A mobile
telephone not exceeding ₤20.00 per month
will be given to General Secretary.
2. The Vice
President Mr. Shiva Rai raised the issue
of dependents’ entitlement as to the
members.
The meeting had
agreed to amend its constitution and
incorporate all these issues.
3. Mr. Makar Rai
quite rightly reiterated the issue of
communication problem within the
community and its members. He also
suggested the executive committee to
plan ahead and act accordingly.
The meeting had
admired his thought.
4. Mr. Kamal Rai
had pin-pointed the relation of
executive committee and its members are
far and wide, it must be rectified. He
also emphasized about the Rai culture to
be adhered to. He stressed that a
suitable person to be nominated for such
task.
The committee had
agreed to look into it.
5. Mr. Prem Kumar
Rai had suggested encouraging and
involving more didi-bahinis in KRY
committees and commitments as well.
The meeting has
welcomed and agreed his proposal.
6. Mr. Mulibir Rai
had thanked for KRY members for their
contribution towards his film premiere.
He also took
responsibility to supply an article
about the meeting to the Nepali
newspapers.
7. The Advisor Mr
Suk Raj Rai had reiterated to unite all
KRY members and work hard to show KRY’s
existence.
ITEM – NEXT
CONVENTION
The next Convention
will take place on Sat 22nd
March 2008. The location will be
notified in due course.
ADJOURNMENT OF
MEETING
Finally, the
President before closing down the
meeting had explained the role to be
played by the KRY and its members. He
also encouraged and reiterated to unite
KRY members by taking part and
supporting KRY in its program. He then
said we must fight and find our rights
so that a fair amount of posts/jobs
including the member of Parliament will
be reserved for Rai family.
There being no
further points, the meeting came to an
end at 1615 hours.
